Affinity workshops

Affinity events play an important role in supporting visibility and providing meeting places for diverse groups in our community. EurIPS can support several different types of events, e.g. workshops, a lunch/breakfast/dinner facilitating interaction or presentations, or other social events.

FAQ

I want to propose an event. What should I do?

Please fill in the form above, with as precise information as possible regarding your estimated audience and preferred format. If you have an idea, but are unsure about the ideal format and available venues, please fill out the form and say so -- this will allow our affinity chairs to start a dialogue with you about potential event formats.

I have proposed an event. What happens now?

Please note that we cannot guarantee acceptance for all proposals. Following the proposal deadline, our affinity chairs will prioritize all incoming suggestions based on resource availability and the anticipated needs of your affinity group. Decisions will be made by September 12, 2025.

What happens if my event proposal is accepted?

If your event proposal is accepted, the affinity chairs will work with you and the local organization team to schedule an event that caters to your community. Please note that in case of proposals from overlapping communities, we may suggest collaboration between different organizing teams.

Does EurIPS provide funding for affinity events?

EurIPS will provide a venue for accepted affinity events, but cannot guarantee further economical support for e.g. catering or social events.
