About EurIPS
What is EurIPS?
EurIPS is a conference in Europe that runs in parallel with NeurIPS. Here, accepted NeurIPS papers can additionally be presented and discussed for a second time. This experimental initiative is developed in collaboration with NeurIPS. As usual, NeurIPS still requires at least one author to register to NeurIPS. See details here. The EurIPS conference features invited keynotes, paper presentations, poster sessions, two days of workshops and more.
Is EurIPS a separate conference, i.e., is EurIPS to NeurIPS like ECCV is to ICCV?
No, the papers at EurIPS are a strict subset of papers accepted at NeurIPS. It is simply an additional presentation venue.
How big is EurIPS?
We currently have space for 1500 people. If sufficient additional sponsorships appear, we may increase this number.
Why is the event called EurIPS + ELLIS UnConference?
We are co-locating EurIPS with the ELLIS UnConference. This UnConference targets the wider European ML/AI community, aiming to create a informal meeting for all to share their latest work.
Who is organizing EurIPS?
The idea originated in ELLIS Unit Copenhagen, but the team quickly expanded to include researchers from across Europe. See our organizers page for the list.
How is EurIPS financially organized?
EurIPS is a one time grassroots event without a professional organizational structure. The conference is financed through scientific foundations, organizations and research projects (some of whose support has been given as deficit guarantees) as well as participation fees. Sponsorships are sought to increase the quality of the conference. There is no financial relationship between EurIPS and NeurIPS.
What is 'EurIPS' short for?
Ehhmmm, glad you asked… It isn't actually short for anything. We just liked the sound of it.
Relationship with NeurIPS
Is EurIPS as good as NeurIPS?
Scientifically, yes. The presented papers are all NeurIPS papers, where the authors opted to present at EurIPS. Organizationally, NeurIPS has more professional support, so some things can be expected to run more smoothly at NeurIPS than EurIPS.
Can a paper be presented at both NeurIPS and EurIPS?
Yes. An author team may opt to split across multiple venues and present accordingly.
How is NeurIPS involved in EurIPS?
EurIPS is an experiment, which is endorsed by the NeurIPS board. Many aspects of the conference have involved input from the NeurIPS general and program chairs.
Does EurIPS enforce the NeurIPS code of conduct?
EurIPS is committed to providing a safe and respectful environment for everyone. At registration, all participants have agreed to adhere to the NeurIPS code of conduct. EurIPS does not accept harassment, including but not limited to sexual harassment, bullying, physical intimidation, or discrimination. If you experience inappropriate behavior, please contact the registration desk or the secretariat (tk@cap-partner.eu). All reports will be handled promptly and confidentially.
Community & Vision
Does EurIPS not run the risk of dividing the community?
Yes. But so does not having EurIPS. Many researchers cannot, for a variety of reasons, attend conferences in the Americas. With EurIPS, we aim to give them a home within the NeurIPS family.
Will EurIPS also take place next year?
Currently, EurIPS is an experiment. We will have to see what the future brings.
Will EurIPS always be in Copenhagen?
No; as mentioned above, this first instance of EurIPS is an experiment, and if it is to continue, it will be held in different locations across Europe.

Pricing & Registration
What are the registration fees for EurIPS?
The registration fees are structured as follows:
• Students: 170 €
• Academics: 385 €
• Industry: 470 €
We also offer financial support in the form of registration fee waivers for student authors who wish to present their paper at EurIPS, see Financial Hardship Registration Waiver for more information.
How many tickets are available and how are they distributed?
We have so far released 1500 EurIPS tickets. Out of these, 500 are student discount tickets priced at 170€. Some of these are reserved until November 7 for NeurIPS authors who want to present, as well as EurIPS organizers, speakers and paper authors. The rest are sold on a first-come, first-serve basis.
We are also continuously working with our sponsors to enable more tickets, including at the student rate.
What are the registration cancellation terms and conditions?
• Notice of cancellation must be sent by email to the reservations office
• For cancellations received before November 15, 2025, a full refund less an administration charge of EURO 55 will be granted. For cancellation after this date no refund will be made.
• If you are not able to attend, you are welcome to give your registration to a colleague. Change of name is free of charge.
• No-shows will not receive a refund.
• Please allow up to 4 weeks to receive any refunds
Services & Features
Does EurIPS provide everything that NeurIPS does?
No. To cut costs and for organizational simplification, EurIPS does not offer an Expo, tutorials, and a few more things. As we are building an airplane while flying it (so to speak), this may be subject to change. We accept both feedback and helping hands.
Are workshops as good at EurIPS?
They will be vetted according to the same protocol and live up to the same high standards. For logistical reasons, a separate call for workshops was required.
Can I bring children to the conference?
Yes, the conference aims to support parents who wish to present and share their research while also caring for their children. Children are welcome as long as they are accompanied by a parent or guardian and behave appropriately. Expectations will naturally vary depending on the child's age.
Infants may be brought into session rooms, provided they do not cause disturbance. A designated room for breastfeeding will be available for those who prefer more privacy, but breastfeeding is generally permitted throughout the venue.
We appreciate your consideration toward fellow participants and thank you for contributing to a respectful and professional conference environment.
Presentation & Posters
What is the recommended poster size?
Posterboards allows for A0 portrait or A1 landscape. This goes for papers presented at EurIPS, the ELLIS UnConference, the Salon des Refusés and for posters at the workshops. We kindly ask you to avoid self-adhesive posters, as they can be difficult to remove.
Does the conference have a poster printing service?
No, unfortunately not. One local option is to print your poster at Vesterkopi.
How long are paper talks?
Oral presentations are 13 minutes and Spotlight presentations are 7 minutes. After each talk, there will be an opportunity for the audience to ask questions.
What are the requirements for uploading presentations?
Presentations must be uploaded to the computer at the A/V desk in the back of the plenary hall prior to your presentation. If possible, please upload at least two hours before your scheduled talk. This helps minimize wasted time due to changing computers.
The screen format is 16:9 and accepted file-formats include Powerpoint, Keynote and PDF.
Presenting from your own laptop is not possible in the Plenary room.
Where should I hang my poster?
EurIPS Poster presenters: Please hang your poster at its designated poster board in the morning of your poster presentation. You can find poster numbers at the poster page.
Workshop presenters (including affinity workshops): Please follow the instructions from the organizers of your workshop.
Participation & Support
Does EurIPS provide visa letters?
This can be requested as part of the registration process
Can I help?
Yes. We will have to rely on volunteers to run EurIPS. However, at this stage, we don't know exactly what kind of help we will need. You can sign up to help through this link. You can also help by spreading the word or simply being patient with us.
Does EurIPS provide financial support, such as registration waivers?
We are currently determining the financial situation of the conference itself, so we, currently, cannot answer this question.
How did you arrive at the registration costs for EurIPS?
The short-but-honest answer is: through a lot of guesswork. We hope to eventually release a report on EurIPS, which includes a high-level budget, after the conference has passed.
We had to organize the conference in a very short amount of time, so we did not have a complete overview of sponsorships when we needed to determine the registration price. We largely determined the registration costs to match the price of catering and similar expenses that grow with the number of participants (things like venue rental are less dependent on the number of participants).
We also wanted to ensure that EurIPS is cheaper than NeurIPS, as it does not have the same level of professional organization.
